DockRoom
Your own private chat room, hosted on your PC.
Send links, notes, photos, and files between your phone and PC as messages to yourself. What you send stays as history you can search later. Everything stays on your own PC — no account, no cloud, no outside connections.
Get it from Microsoft Store (Windows)
- Windows
- Android
- iPhone
Free, no ads. Android and iPhone versions are coming soon. The app's interface is currently in Japanese only.
Our promises
We keep nothing
Your data lives only on your PC. There is no developer server and no account.
No mis-sends
The only destination is your own room. When sharing from other apps, you pick the room first.
Only what you send
No clipboard monitoring, no automatic photo access. Only what you explicitly send.
How it works
- Install DockRoom on your PC. It stays in the system tray as your "hub".
- Scan the QR code with the phone app. On the same Wi-Fi, scanning the code shown on your PC is all it takes.
- Send like a chat. The same rooms and history appear on both your PC and phone.
Features
- Organize with rooms (starts with just an Inbox — arrange the rest your way)
- Send text, links, and code snippets; edit, pin, and copy messages
- Attach photos, videos (up to 10 at a time), and files; saved photos and videos appear at the top of your gallery
- On PC, paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V to send it instantly
- Send to DockRoom from other apps' Share menu (Android)
- Search across all rooms
- Full backup and restore, including photos and videos
- TLS-encrypted connection that trusts only the certificate from pairing

Support & FAQ
- Is it free?
- Yes. Both the Windows and phone apps are free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
- Does it work with an iPhone and a Windows PC?
- Yes. The hub runs on a Windows PC, and the phone can be either Android or iPhone.
- Where is my data sent?
- Only to your own PC. There is no developer server, no account, no ads and no analytics. See the Privacy Policy for details.
- Can I use it away from home?
- No. DockRoom is designed to work only within your local network — not exposing it to the internet is part of how it stays safe.
- How is it different from file transfer apps like LocalSend?
- DockRoom keeps what you send as conversation history in rooms that you can search later. If you mainly need to hand over many files on the spot, a dedicated transfer app is a better fit.
- Does it work on a Mac?
- The hub currently runs on Windows only.
- Is the app available in English?
- Not yet. The app's interface is currently in Japanese only.
- My phone can't connect
- Make sure your PC and phone are on the same Wi-Fi and DockRoom is running on your PC (system tray). When Windows Firewall asks on first launch, allow access on "Private networks".
- It used to work, but suddenly can't connect
- Your PC's IP address may have changed. Scan the QR code again from "⚙ 設定 (Settings) → スマホとペアリング (Pair with phone)" on your PC. Reserving a fixed IP for your PC on your router (DHCP reservation) prevents this.
- How do I move to a new PC?
- On the old PC, use "⚙ 設定 (Settings) → フルバックアップを保存 (Save full backup)"; on the new PC, use "バックアップから復元… (Restore from backup)". Then scan the new PC's QR code with your phone.
